Students are equipped with a love for learning that often extends past a typical Bachelor’s degree, as seen in the university’s postgraduate programs, like the distinguished Master’s in Commercial Law (LLM).

But learning also instills a passion for charity, and this is most evident in the initiatives led by DAH students. From tree-planting and recyclable accessories that reflect Saudi Arabia’s 2030 green vision to giving back to their community by preparing food baskets and essential supplies for those in need, they are rewriting the average university experience through acts of service and love.

To elevate the university’s status even further and highlight its influence in multiple fields, students from DAH have also participated in film and entertainment festivals, volunteering as organizers and ushers. Their work was recognized through certificates of appreciation, and the event’s creators praised their excellent efforts.

At Dar Al-Hekma, ambition and compassion walk hand in hand. It’s a place where tomorrow’s leaders excel academically and learn to lift others as they climb.

Green Initiatives & Environmental Impact

It’s no secret that Dar Al-Hekma has made great strides toward a brighter, greener future. Here are some of its most notable initiatives in that regard:

The “#PlantWisely” Initiative

Can you imagine a group of future psychologists, business leaders, and designers working side by side, their textbooks swapped for gardening gloves as they planted the seeds of environmental change?

When International Volunteer Day arrived, Dar Al-Hekma University students grabbed their shovels and made miracles happen at Al-Taawun Park. Teaming up with Jeddah Municipality, they brought the thoughtful initiative to life and transformed forgotten, neglected patches of earth into thriving green spaces that will grow alongside Saudi Arabia’s sustainable future.

Khaleej Salman Beach Clean-up

In honor of World Cleanup Day, Dar Al-Hekma’s students took on the task of carrying trash bags and heading to Khaleej Salman Beach with a mission in mind. During this initiative, nineteen determined volunteers joined hands with environmental warriors from across the globe to combat plastic pollution.

When they finished, the difference was like night and day. Where plastic bottles were littered all over the shore, stood footprints of volunteers that had worked hard to effect change.

Sustainability in Fashion

When Dar Al-Hekma’s Green Team partnered with Al-Nabta Environmental Company, the results were absolutely revolutionary. Six creative students set out to transform discarded event banners into six stunning eco-chic totes, proving that sustainability can be translated into high fashion.

After Majed Society joined the movement, those initial six upcycled creations became something bigger. Jeddah saw DAH’s banner-totes carried in local markets, at campus events, and beyond.

Nourishing Communities: DAH’s Food Aid

DAH’s pledges to give back to the community have always been commendable, and their initiatives are nothing short of spectacular.

The “Mobility for Food Bank” Campaign

Dar Al-Hekma University was among the first institutions to organize a major food security initiative during Ramadan. After partnering with Hyundai Motors and the Saudi Food Bank “Eta’am”, DAH students took charge of assembling and distributing 1,500 sustainable food packages to families in need across Jeddah.

This gesture was one of love and hope. It spoke volumes about the values Dar Al-Hekma is known for, and the endless efforts of its students to reflect them in real life.

Aid for the Families of Ribat Buqshan

Dar Al-Hekma’s Student Council members and Future Ambassadors Endowment volunteers transformed sacks of rice and tins of oil into lifelines for Ribat Buqshan families.

Their work was not accompanied by fanfare. It was just the determination of young leaders who understand that true service requires both compassion and a willingness to help those in need.

In a world that’s growing increasingly apathetic to its surroundings, amidst all the disconnect from the tragedies of modern times, Dar Al-Hekma stands out for its humanitarian efforts and the endless compassion of its students.
